What is Bruxism?
It is a medical term to describe the grinding of teeth which usually happens unconsciously. Often, bruxism happens while sleeping and is thus a sleep disorder. Those who clench and grind at night are more likely to have other disorders like snoring and pauses in breathing during sleep which could be hypopnea or sleep apnea.

- Tooth fracture
- Hypersensitive teeth
- Jaw disorders
What Causes it?
Various unrelated factors can contribute to clenching and grinding while asleep. It can be caused by an abnormal bite, missing teeth or crooked teeth. It can sometimes be caused by stress or anxiety. Night grinding can even be caused by another sleep disorder like sleep apnea.
